    Today, Sunday (October 29, 2023), Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani stressed the need for population policy to be reflected in the ministries’ plans.
    The Sudanese media office said in a statement received by “Baghdad Today” that the latter “chaired a meeting of the Supreme Population Council, during which the topics on the agenda were discussed and some recommendations were made,” noting that “the meeting discussed completing the implementation of the general census of population and housing, and presented recommendations.” Issued by the coordination meeting between the countries of the Arab Council for Population and Development, in addition to the procedures for following up on the implementation of the National Population Policy Document (2023).”
    The Prime Minister stressed, according to the statement: “The need for population policy to be reflected in the ministries’ plans, in a way that contributes to raising the indicators of education, health, work, and housing.”
    The statement added, "It was recommended to pay attention to facilitating the requirements of people with special needs, in all state institutions, in line with what was stated in the government program in the aspect related to providing care, administrative reforms, and providing services," indicating that "it was recommended to support the work of the Child Welfare Authority and the Authority for People with Disabilities." Disability and special needs, as well as developing the capabilities of reproductive health service providers in health institutions.”
    He continued, "The meeting recommended supporting the implementation of the National School Health Strategy in secondary schools for boys and girls, in addition to allocating appropriate funding from the Reconstruction and Development Fund to support the implementation of development programs concerned with the population policy axes.
