The public-private partnership law contributes to achieving development

The General Tax Authority called for investment in government buildings and departments through partnership with the private sector, in light of the presence of buildings worth billions of dollars, at a time when the Parliamentary Investment and Development Committee revealed that the partnership law between the public and private sectors will contribute to achieving economic development.
A member of the Parliamentary Investment Committee, Muhammad Al-Ziyadi, told Al-Sabah: Investment is entrusted to the Investment Authority, and partnership is different from investment, and it is better for preserving public money, noting that there are a number of questions, including: How is work done in partnership? What is the percentage and profits? What are the feasibility studies for specific buildings? Who is the partner? What is the mechanism of selection and who decided? How did he decide?
He explained that there are no answers in the absence of a law for partnership with the private sector, indicating that there is only an investment law.
