    Housing sales to foreigners in Turkey decreased by 48.1 percent during the year 2023 compared to the year 2022, while Iraqis came in third place among the foreigners who purchased the most real estate in Turkey.
    According to a statement by the Turkish Statistics Authority, the share of housing sales to foreigners reached 2.9 percent, recording 35,050 properties.
     The state of Antalya topped the list of Turkish states selling the most real estate to foreigners with 12,702 properties, then Istanbul with 11,229 properties, and Mersin with 3,016 properties.
     The Russians ranked first with 10,560 properties purchased, followed by the Iranians with 4,272 properties, and then the Iraqis with 1,917 properties.
     As for total housing sales in the country, they decreased by 17.5 percent in 2023 compared to 2022, and reached 1,225,926 properties.
     It is noteworthy that the Iraqis ranked third last June (2023) on the list of foreigners purchasing real estate in Turkey with 175 properties, after the Russians, who purchased real estate at 6,456 properties, and the Iranians at 2,756 properties, then the Ukrainians came fourth at 938 properties.
