The representative of the Al-Fatah Alliance, Muhammad Karim, confirmed that tomorrow’s session, Saturday, will not discuss the selection of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, pointing out that everyone is awaiting a decision from the Federal Court regarding the appeal of the voting session on the candidates for the Presidency of the Council.
Karim said in a press statement: “Parliament is scheduled to hold a regular session next Saturday, which will be a session like all other sessions without choosing the new Speaker of the House of Representatives.”
He added, "There is confidence in the Federal Court and its decisions, and everyone is waiting for what it will say regarding the Parliament session to choose the new president, after the previous session in which the candidates for the presidential position were voted on was challenged."
He stated that "the session to select the Speaker of Parliament will be held after the Federal Court gives its final say on the submitted appeal, so that the issue of completing the procedures for electing the Speaker of the Iraqi Council of Representatives will then proceed."
