Yesterday, Monday, the Ministry of Interior expressed its surprise at directing criticism regarding the “Muridi Market” brawls in Sadr City and “New Baghdad” to the security forces without mercy and forgetting their major role in maintaining security.
The security advisor to the Minister of the Interior, Major General Saad Maan, said in a statement, “Opinions are often divided and multiplied on the various topics raised for discussion in our society, whether economic, social, political, or other, and there is a group that supports a certain idea and another that rejects it, but the security files remain.” These are the files most circulated among public opinion, especially if a crime or a specific security breach occurs.
He added, "We see that the criticism is directed at the security forces without mercy, forgetting their great role and the sacrifices they make, amounting to selfless sacrifice and blood for the sake of Iraq's security and stability," pointing out that "recently, there has been a lot of talk and debate on websites, electronic platforms, and some media outlets about... The two crimes committed in the cities of Al-Sadr and New Baghdad in the capital, Baghdad, a few days ago.”
Maan explained, “What is disappointing is that delving into the details of the two crimes takes only one aspect, placing the blame on the security forces, which we do not deny bear the primary responsibility in this regard, but at the same time it is not possible to place a policeman and a security man in every alley and commercial store monitoring the actions of individuals.” “This is impossible, of course.”
He stated that “some people neglected or neglected to talk about the speed of the Ministry of Interior’s response and its arrest of the perpetrators and bringing them to justice and the judiciary to retaliate against them, for the victims first and for society second,” noting that “this is something that fair people must mention, because of its importance in raising the morale of the security forces that She sacrifices herself every day to enhance stability and maintain societal security.”
