MP: Kuwait will build the port of Umm Qasr and homes near.

BAGHDAD
/ NINA / MP, of the Basra province, Jawad al-Bazooni confirmed that
"the agreement between the Iraqi and Kuwaiti governments, on the borders
in Umm Qasr, aims to get the Kuwaiti port away from the Iraqi port".

He
said in a statement to the National Iraqi News Agency / NINA /: "The
Kuwaiti government submitted a request to Iraq, within their
negotiations, to distance the Iraqi port about 100 meters from the port
of Kuwait, in order to monitor the border, especially when
demonstrations or sit-ins by Iraqi farmers occur and arrive to the port
and fire or attacks may happen."

He added that "Kuwait would
build the Iraqi port and the houses near it, which belong to the staff
of the port, the government has found no problem with that as long as
Kuwait will not creeps toward Iraq but there will be a neutral zone
between the two sides."

The MP, Alia Nassif called on the Iraqi
people to "express rejection of the Kuwait takeover on Iraqi territory
in the Umm Qasr area, which includes 250 homes." / End
