The head of the Iraqi Securities Commission, Faisal Al-Haimas, revealed that Iraq is in the process of launching the electronic signature, which is one of the requirements for new investment portfolios to enter the market.
Al-Haims said in a speech during the eighth Sulaymaniyah Forum, “We are part of the National Office for Combating Terrorist Financing and Money Laundering, and we have succeeded in this field. We are trying to raise the capabilities of the Iraqi Stock Exchange by expanding oversight of brokers and inspecting their clients personally.”
He added, “We must keep pace with the development and technological transformation in all financial processes in Iraq,” noting that “Iraq is in the process of launching the electronic signature and we are one of the beneficiaries, which is one of the requirements for new investment portfolios to enter the market.”
He pointed out that "adopting the electronic signature helps the Securities Commission to digitally transform its operations," adding, "In addition to the first market, we launched the second market and also a trading platform for companies that are not financially disclosed, and these are procedures that allow facilitating the funds invested by investors.”[/rtl]
