    He added: The project will be referred at the end of this year for investment according to Iraq's economic interest, since the project will be presented as an investment opportunity, and the IFC Foundation will enter into discussions about the implementing companies to choose the best one, and the final decision will be for the Iraqi government.
    He explained: In September of last year, the Iraqi government had signed an agreement with the International Finance Corporation (IFC), which includes the international organization providing an integrated investment portfolio that includes how the international airport will be expanded, financed, operated and maintained, and the efficiency of its facilities and safety factors will be raised, and the With its services, to comply with international standards for airports in the world, through one of the specialized international companies.
    He pointed out: In the past few days, the Minister of Transport inspected the corridors of Baghdad International Airport, to see the reality of the services provided to travelers, and the work of the employees of the ministry’s formations at the airport, and directed to intensify and double the work, and to continue rehabilitation and maintenance work in the airport lounges.
