    Information / Baghdad..
Independent MP Yasser Al-Husseini called on the Presidency of the Council of Representatives today, Monday, to activate the oversight role of hosting and questioning senior officials in the Iraqi state, while demanding the acceleration of the decision on the position of the Parliament Presidency.
Al-Hussaini told Al-Maalouma Agency, "The House of Representatives is supposed to activate its oversight role over all aspects of the state in accordance with Article (61) of the Iraqi Constitution."
He added that "the absence of the parliament's oversight role is due to each bloc's pursuit of its partisan and factional interests."
Al-Hussaini stressed the need to "activate the House of Representatives' oversight role through interrogations, oral questions and hosting, and not just focus on the legislative aspect." End/25 H
