Today, Monday, the representative of the Progress Party, Burhan Nasser Al-Nimrawi, denied that the issue of the presidency of the House of Representatives had been resolved, indicating that the political blocs in the Sunni component had not reached an agreed-upon figure to head the council.
Al-Nimrawi told Al-Maalouma Agency that "the four proposals presented by the Progress Party to the Sunni forces regarding the position of Parliament Speaker have not been answered, and the talks have not resulted in identifying an agreed-upon figure to chair the council."
He added, "The Sunni blocs have not yet set a date for holding a session to elect the president, stressing that the Sunni alliances did not request holding a session to elect a parliament speaker due to the lack of understandings between everyone." End/12A
