It is axiomatic that working in oil fields is that advanced drilling mechanisms with high efficiency bring important results at the level of extraction and new discovery, especially the quantities of crude oil reserves that lie deep in those fields and in the southern regions in particular. This is confirmed by a group of specialized geologists that statistics are largely based on data that have been estimated for decades that unexplored fields in Iraq may contain much larger oil reserves than originally indicated, and Iraq may exceed its fifth place in the world in terms of oil reserve quantities at the level of countries rich in crude oil. What reinforces these indicators are the measures taken by the Ministry of Oil these days and through updating drilling mechanisms in some southern fields by launching the giant drilling rig in Iraq that operates with a power of up to (2000) horsepower, specifically in the Majnoon field. The
impact of the drilling process with this device, which is the largest in Iraq, has many benefits that other less powerful devices have not been able to reach, and its positive effects on the production process in the aforementioned field are worthy of attention because it is characterized by a superior ability to drill deeper compared to devices with less capacity than it, because all its equipment is manufactured with high technology for the purpose of reaching drilling operations to deep levels that can achieve the desired purpose, which is mostly drilling. Exploratory and evaluation wells, in addition to the technical technique to address the cases and problems that may occur during drilling operations in the depth of the targeted wells, in addition to indicating geological information about the rock layers that can add new numbers to the size of the national reserves, in addition to what was confirmed in previous statistics that showed that Iraq is ranked fifth among the best countries that have growing oil reserves according to the statistics of the Italian oil company Eni and among the ten largest countries in the world, with an amount of (145) billion barrels, approximately two years ago, and with a growth rate that is subject to change upwards.
The modern uses that the Ministry of Oil is working on, and through its affiliated well drilling company, have all the possibilities at the level of new explorations, including recording modern numbers in the field of reserves in all areas of Iraq, and in an increasing manner. After widely varying estimates regarding these indicators, and through the numbers of the US Department of Energy approximately two decades ago, it indicated that Iraq has (112) billion barrels in reserve, as the US Geological Survey previously estimated Iraqi oil reserves at (78) billion barrels in (1995), but local oil sources expected at the time that the potential reserves may It amounts to (300) billion barrels,
and after those indicators, evidence comes to indicate, without a doubt, that the work and procedures of those in charge of the oil sector, through modernization and investment in drilling operations, indicate that the levels of oil reserves in Iraq are increasing in direct proportion to those procedures, and through the great efforts that the Ministry of Oil seeks to achieve development goals and determine graphic indicators for everything related to this field and what successes it can achieve in the long term, and it will lead oil, which is the vital economic factor, to great positive effects on comprehensive development in our country.
