    The Environmental Performance Index revealed a list of "the cleanest and least clean countries", related to several indicators related to environmental activity and performance, while Iraq ranked last in the Arab world and globally.

    The 2024 Environmental Performance Index provides a summary of the state of sustainability around the world. Using 58 performance indicators across 11 issue categories, the Environmental Performance Index ranks 180 countries based on climate change performance, environmental health, ecosystem vitality, and how close countries are to implementing environmental policy goals.
