The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs announced today, Friday, the activation of the (Empowerment and Jobs) platform for people with disabilities.
The head of the Commission for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and Special Needs, Dhikra Abdul Rahim, said in a statement received by "Al-Eqtisad News", that "the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Ahmed Al-Asadi, announced the activation of the (Empowerment and Jobs) platform for persons with disabilities through the electronic portal of Ur."
She pointed out that "the (Empowerment and Jobs) platform is an electronic service dedicated to people with disabilities and aims to empower them (socially, economically, medically, educationally and professionally) through appropriate vocational training for people with disabilities and special needs and developing their capabilities according to the needs of the labor market," noting that "the platform also aims to train families of people with disabilities and special needs on how to deal with them properly and care for them and look after them in a way that does not affect their dignity in a way that achieves their social integration, and provides free seats in private schools for people with disabilities and special needs from low-income families."
She added that "the Tamkeen platform also aims to exempt people with disabilities and special needs from years of waiting to study abroad for all academic levels, provide free scholarships for people with disabilities in Iraqi universities for those below the poverty line, provide free health services for people with disabilities and special needs, secure treatment costs inside and outside Iraq, including operations or any other requirements, and benefit from medical aids (prosthetic limbs, chairs, supports, etc.)."
