Today, Monday, the Minister of Electricity, Ziad Ali Fadhel, issued a directive to provide the pilgrims’ road between Najaf and Karbala with additional lines to enhance power supplies.
A statement by the ministry received by "Al-Eqtisad News" stated that "in order to enhance the steps to make the Arbaeen Pilgrimage a success, and to provide electrical energy for the Husseini processions, the Minister of Electricity, Ziad Ali Fadhel, directed the creation of two new electrical lines with a capacity of (33, kV), in Najaf Al-Ashraf, and to put them into service within days."
The statement added, "The first line extends from the tire station towards the holy Karbala road, and aims to cover areas that witness a high density of Husseini processions," noting that "the second line extends from the tire station towards the holy Najaf road."
He added, "These projects come within the framework of the tireless efforts made by the Ministry of Electricity in implementation of the Prime Minister's directives to strengthen the electricity network in the two holy cities and provide the necessary energy on the path of visitors."
