[rtl]Baghdad / NINA / Today's newspapers, Tuesday, focused on Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani's emphasis on the importance of optimal investment in irrigation and water projects scheduled to be implemented with Turkey and the arrest warrants issued by the Integrity Commission against those with special ranks for the month of July.
Al-Zawraa newspaper, issued by the Journalists Syndicate, quoted Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani as stressing the importance of optimal investment in irrigation and water projects scheduled to be implemented with Turkey. The
Prime Minister's media office stated in a statement that Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani chaired a meeting devoted to discussing the first package of water projects within the framework agreement between Iraq and Turkey, signed between the two sides last April, which includes 13 projects, in addition to projects that fall within the investment plan.
During the meeting, he pointed out that launching these projects will provide new management for the water file, indicating the importance of focusing on treatment plants, sewage projects, water resources projects, and strategic projects, as well as the need to study agricultural reclamation and irrigation projects, and water retention dams through a group of relevant ministries, and forming technical teams in each ministry to select future strategic projects.
Al-Sudani directed the launch of the first package of projects, especially with the availability of the allocated amounts, as well as the formation of a specialized technical team in the Ministry of Water Resources, based on the joint agreement, to handle technical matters, archiving and communication with the Turkish side, and to make use of the expertise available to them.
The projects were distributed as follows: 6 projects within the Ministry of Water Resources, 5 projects within the responsibility of the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Municipalities, and two projects within the Ministry of Agriculture, and they varied between irrigation network reclamation projects, closed irrigation systems, or main and branch canal drainage projects, or dams for water storage.
Al-Sabah newspaper focused on the arrest warrants issued by the Integrity Commission against those with special ranks for the month of July and said that the Integrity Commission showed the total arrest and summons orders issued and executed against those with high and special ranks during the past month of July, confirming that they reached 36 orders.
A statement by the Commission stated that "the judicial authorities issued 36 arrest and summons orders against 31 of those with high and special ranks, against the backdrop of cases investigated by the Commission's investigation directorates and offices in Baghdad and the governorates and referred to the judiciary," explaining that "30 summons orders and six arrest orders were issued for the period from the first of July until the end of it."
He added that "the orders included two former ministers, a former minister, a former undersecretary, a former member of parliament, six current directors-general, 14 former directors-general, two former, in addition to a former governor and three former."
In addition, the Al-Nahrain Foundation for Supporting Transparency and Integrity considered the "theft of the century" an ongoing crime and the final amount or the people involved in it have not been determined yet.
The head of the foundation, Mohammed Rahim Al-Rubaie, said: "Since the money from the theft of the century was transferred outside Iraq, the final amount and even the people involved in it have not been determined yet, stressing that other names are involved in this crime, and others are involved in money laundering crimes through it.
Al-Rubaie praised the great cooperation between the International Police "Interpol", the Supreme Judicial Council, the Ministries of Justice and Foreign Affairs, and the relevant agencies, in addition to the Integrity Commission, to arrest them so that they receive their just punishment.
Al-Zaman newspaper focused on the demonstrations in Sulaymaniyah demanding the payment of salaries. The demonstrations in Sulaymaniyah have returned to the forefront again, expressing widespread dissatisfaction with the delay in the payment of salaries of employees of service departments, which prompted them to go on a general strike and not return to work, demanding that the government take immediate measures to ensure that their dues are paid on the specified dates.
During the demonstration yesterday, the employees announced (their strike due to not receiving their salaries for two consecutive months, and employees in the Sulaymaniyah Municipality boycotted work, while others organized a strike, which led to the disruption of services to citizens). For its part, the Sulaymaniyah Municipality attributed (the strike to the delay in the payment of salaries for two months, as the end of August is approaching, the salaries for July have not yet been paid).
The crazy lecturers in Sulaymaniyah suspended their demonstrations after the Kurdistan Regional Government's decision to appoint them on a contract basis on the staff of the Ministry of Education.
The spokesman for the free lecturers, Mohammed Kamal, said in a statement yesterday that (after the regional government decided to complete the contracting procedure with the lecturers for a month, we will commit to not demonstrating for 29 days, and if the promises are fulfilled, our demands will be met, but otherwise we will return to demonstrating again),
adding that (the Prime Minister of the Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, agreed to appoint all the free lecturers, who number about 38 thousand free lecturers in all areas of the region, on a contract basis on the staff of the Ministry of Education, provided that their salaries are paid from Kurdistan’s revenues), indicating that (all lecturers, including those with little service, will be appointed on a contract basis, but according to the regional government, if the federal budget for next year is approved, the appointment of teachers on a contract basis will be included in a permanent appointment, and then there will be conditions subject to competition between applicants),
and he appreciated (the efforts of the regional government in achieving this legitimate demand after years of demonstrations and demands).
Minister Alan Hama Saeed had confirmed the regional government’s approval to appoint all lecturers to permanent contracts.
Hama Saeed said during a conference yesterday that (we met with a number of representatives of the lecturers and arranged a meeting with the Prime Minister and raised their problems, where Barzani appreciated the patience of the lecturers during the past years),
and he added (we previously directed to solve the problems of the lecturers and I visited the Prime Minister of the Federal Government Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani and the Minister of Education Ibrahim Namis Al-Jubouri, where approval was obtained to appoint 350 thousand lecturers in the rest of the cities and governorates and they did not agree to allocate a budget for lecturers in the region),
and he continued that (Barzani decided to appoint all lecturers as permanent contracts at the expense of the Kurdistan government, and work will be done to arrange the transactions as the number of lecturers is 38 thousand lecturers). / End[/rtl]
