    Rafidain Bank plans to issue smart cards for retirees in four Arab countries

    Rafidain Bank, announced its intention to issue smart card, in the coming days for retirees in four Arab countries.

    The general director of the bank on behalf of Kamal al-Hassani, Saturday, in a statement received by all of Iraq [where], a copy of the "most prominent Arab countries will be ready to use the smart card, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Lebanon, Jordan, where he will provide service to customers who rely on the card. "

    He said he "has issued first smart card for retirees living in the United Arab Emirates, as the process can receive their pensions through easily and without suffering as it was in the past through the receipt manually and the case will be with the rest of the other Arab countries."

    The Rafidain Bank announced on 24 January last, for issuing smart card Alki Card] Pferah in Abu Dhabi for adoption at the retired pay of there.

    He said in a statement, "It has to issue the first smart cards for retirees living in the United Arab Emirates, where the process can receive their pensions and easily without suffering" .anthy

    Yea remember the January announcement (not to mention the years of following and waiting on the smart cards to take hold as a reality anticipated), like most, tired of waiting but now with the remittances in place, this is seeming more and more ready in preparing for the real day.... What's y'all got to say about that in reality...?

    Qi Card, is an Iraqi national credit card developed by International Smart Card, with equity contribution by Rafidain Bank and Rasheed Bank, currently distributing pensions and some government salaries directly into bank accounts. State of the art technology of biometric verification and de-duplication engine used with the Qi card solution is saving the government millions of dollars by identifying potential fraud in government pension and grant distribution. Recently, Qi card initiated a pilot with the General Directorate of Traffic and Rasheed Bank to charge traffic violators directly through withdrawal of fines from their bank accounts, although unless other banks sign-up for such a service and large proportion of Iraqis open bank accounts, the service will be short of success. Qi card has approximately two million users with parallel aim to expand into retail stores through a network of points of sales of about 30,000 units by 2015.

    lets see...remittances paid by the Iraqi form of debit/ credit card....expanding terminals throughout Iraq....that = less cash out = a non cash society.
