    The Iraqi Ministry of Agriculture, on Saturday, approached the self-sufficiency of some vegetables during the current year 2016, while confirming that the production of wheat crop fills more than 80% of the ration card.
    The agent said the Ministry of Agriculture Mehdi ligature in an interview with the (long-Presse), said that "there are a number of projects undertaken by the ministry, including improving the quality of seeds and irrigation by spraying to increase the production of wheat crop," expected to "produce wheat more than 80% of the card ration which is estimated at four million and 250 000 tons per year. "
    He ligature, that "the production of vegetables, achieved an increase in 2015 and we expect to increase this year to close to self-sufficiency for some vegetables Ktamath, potatoes, cucumbers, peppers and eggplant," adding, that "the ministry's plan to expand packaged dates, as well as increase its production."
    The Ministry of Agriculture announced earlier in proximity to the self-sufficiency of some crops, including crop wheat and barley not for the security events that took place in a number of Iraqi provinces, indicating its status plans to fill the shortage of crops by expanding cultivated in the central and southern regions.
