Egypt: Iraq did not transfer funds of pension rights for Egyptians

    2013-04-08

    Baghdad/JD/...Minister
of manpower and immigration of Egypt, Khaled Al-Azhari said the Iraqi
Government has not yet transferred the $ 60 million the value of pension
benefits for Egyptian workers in Iraq 20 years ago, adding that he had
contacted the Iraqi Government days to hurry such receivables.

    Azahari,
he said, in remarks for the seventh day, the Ministry sent a list of
beneficiaries and the Iraqi Government has not responded so far, and
that Egypt got final approval from the Iraqi Government to spend these
benefits by visiting the Dr. Hisham Qandil of Iraq recently.

    The
Iraqi Prime Minister, has said he has been paid the $ 60 million to the
Egyptian government pension benefits value, angering beneficiaries of
these payments, and the Government of Egypt arrived in entitlements.

    Planning
Minister Ali Yusuf Al-Shukri said in joint press conference with his
Egyptian counterpart Ray: Iraq agreed to pay pension rights for Egyptian
workers, amounting to 60 million dollars and the amount will be
delivered after the Central Bank of Iraq, and agreement on the transfer
    of funds.

The Ministry of manpower and immigration of Egypt has
completed the update of data on recipients of pensions to the Iraqi
Government, known as pensions, that have not been updated since more
    than 20 years./finished/22/
