A very strong and shallow earthquake registered by the USGS as M7.1 hit north of Ascension Island, central Atlantic Ocean at 04:29 UTC on August 29, 2016. The agency is reporting a depth of 10 km (6.2 miles). EMSC is reporting Mw7.1 at a depth of 18 km (11.2 miles)....... Read more »
