Re the former US President, Barack Obama, on charges that his successor , Donald Trump has, eavesdropping on his phone ahead of presidential elections.
The former spokesman for Obame Kevin Lewis, A, that the president "has never been ordered to monitor any American citizen."
Lewis, in an official statement issued by the Office of the Obama presidency, said that " the fundamental basis for the Obama administration was non - interference by any official in the White House in any independent investigation by the Justice Department."
He added: "In the context of this, President Obama has never ordered or any other White House official to monitor any American citizen. Any allegation to the contrary is false."
