A statement by the Presidency of the Republic said: "Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, the Senior Adviser of the President of the Republic and Najimalddin Kareem, the governor of Kirkuk, met with Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki in his office and the meeting dealt with various aspects concerning the security situation, particularly in the province of Kirkuk, as well as the upcoming elections in Kurdistan. / end
