The Iraqi ambassador to Cairo, Habib al-Sadr, said Monday that more than half of the displaced and their families have not yet returned to their homes.

Sadr said during a press statement, "Baghdad Post": "55% of the families are still displaced inside and outside Iraq, because of the destruction in their cities as a result of military operations against Da'ash."

"The cost of reconstruction is great, and we emphasize the need to support the international community and our brothers in this matter, the cities when adopted takes a long time and cost a lot of money."

"Some neighborhoods have been completely destroyed by terrorism. This requires a strong and substantial reconstruction campaign, with substantial funds being allocated. We hope that the international community will support us in this regard," he stressed.

He pointed out that "Iraq has two types of displacement, the first: the outside, where a large number of children of the areas controlled by terrorists to leave the country, and the second: the internal, focused within the cities and provinces safe in the country."
