Russia's Chief of Staff Valery Girasimov said on Saturday that groups of long-range air and naval missile carriers had been established in all strategic directions in Russia.
"In order to increase its effectiveness, special attention is given to the development of precision weapons. In every strategic direction, groups of long-range rocket carriers have been established in air, sea and ground bases capable of deterrence in strategically important areas," Gerasimov said in remarks carried by the agency.
He added that "Russia has been able to shorten the readiness of weapons long-range and highly accurate for combat use, by 1.5 times."
"The lifting of the high-precision weaponry presented by Russian President Vladimir Putin in his letter to the Federal Assembly earlier this month will allow the transfer of a large part of the strategic deterrence from the nuclear field to the non-nuclear field," he said.
"The development of strategic nuclear forces in Russia is achieved through the production of modern missile systems capable of deterring enemy missile defense systems, as well as the production of new combat equipment in principle, including those that have supersonic speed, underwater means for the transfer of nuclear weapons and the other strategic weapon that Unparalleled in the world "
