Minister of Transport Kazem Vajan al-Yamami said on Saturday that the start of the operation of the river taxi between Adhamiya and Jadriya in Baghdad.
Al-Hamami said in a press statement that the boats of the General Company for Maritime Transport in Baghdad will start on April 1 running the river line (river taxi) between Adhamiya and Jadriya on the banks of the Tigris River.
He added that the new boats that will work on this line can accommodate up to 40 passengers and all marine safety specifications are available and staffed by specialized crews.
He added that the aim is to alleviate the congestion witnessed in the capital Baghdad and to add a new transport service and reduce the effort on students between the sides of Karkh and Rusafa.
