[ltr]Iraq on Monday called on Cuba to cooperate in dealing with the Iraqi debts owed by Cuba and the importance of scientific and cultural cooperation between Baghdad and Havana.[/ltr]
[ltr]"Jaafari received today a copy of the credentials of Alexis Bandrich Vega, Cuba's new non-resident ambassador in Baghdad," the Information Office of the Foreign Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari said in a statement received by Mawazine News. "The two sides discussed the bilateral relations between the two countries, Raise them to achieve the aspirations of the two friendly peoples. "[/ltr]
[ltr]Jaafari stressed that "the government is moving to promote investment opportunities in Iraq, and Cuban companies can benefit from them, and contribute to reconstruction," pointing to "the importance of scientific and cultural cooperation between Baghdad and Havana, and the signing of memorandums of understanding in various fields."[/ltr]
[ltr]He called on the Cuban side to "cooperate with Iraq in dealing with the file of Iraq's debts incurred by Cuba", explaining that "Iraq is exceptional circumstances due to low oil prices and the cost of war against terrorist gangs."[/ltr]
[ltr]Jaafari called on the Cuban foreign minister to visit Iraq in the context of strengthening relations between the two countries.[/ltr]
[ltr]For his part, the new ambassador of Cuba in Baghdad, "his country's readiness to strengthen relations with Iraq in various political, economic, cultural and commercial fields," expressing his government's thanks for "Iraq's positions supporting them in the United Nations."[/ltr]
