    Shafaq News / Legal expert Tariq Harb replied on Saturday to a statement by the House of Representatives on the privileges of its members.
    Tariq Harb said in a statement to Ashqaf News that the texts of the new law of the House of Representatives, which shows some privileges:
    Article 13 / II of the Law provides that:
    The pension service covered by paragraph 1 of this Article, ie the President of the Council, his deputies and the members, fifteen years, if less than that, meaning that the service even for a day, because today less than fifteen years is worth the pension, while all pensioners including The ministers are required to serve for fifteen years. Is not this a privilege for the deputy over all pensioners?
    And the third paragraph of the same article decides to spend half of the pension rights for deputies if not reached the age of fifty years of age, while all retirees required to pay the rights to complete the fifty years until the ministers to the pension benefit, is not a privilege for the deputy to pay him pension before the age of fifty? While all pensioners do not receive the salary until after the completion of the fifty even the ministers, and so the law excluded the deputy from the service and age to pay the pension and has nothing to do with the amount received by the deputy pension, or other privileges will not go through.
    The Iraqi Council of Representatives issued on Saturday, clarification on the reality of privileges in the Council, which provoked angry popular reactions.

    "We want to assure the Iraqi public that the House of Representatives has enacted a law specific to each ministry and each of the independent bodies in addition to some institutions that enjoy independence under the Constitution for the purpose of organizing the formations and functions of those ministries and institutions and institutions under their own laws and the adoption of the law of the House of Representatives and its composition in The same framework could have been taken if the law had not been approved. The structure and work of the ministries can not be organized according to the law. The House of Representatives (the highest constitutional authority in Iraq) operates without a law regulating its functions and structures.
    The statement added that "the stages of enactment of the law have been legislated in accordance with the legislative context followed by any other law. The first reading was on 20 November 2017. The second reading took place on 7 January 2018, while the Council voted on it on 5 March 2018.     He stressed that "the law does not include any privileges and there is confirmation from the Presidency of the Council and a number of deputies on this matter during the second reading and on the day of voting as well, and at the time that took nearly six million employees salaries from the state, and on the count of employees of the House of Representatives, The total number of employees of the House of Representatives is less than two thousand employees and they receive their salaries according to the law of salaries of state employees and public sector No. (22) for the year 2008 amended as their peers in all institutions and departments of the state and there is no additional allocations for any degree of employment in the House of Representatives at all, The House is one tenth Only adviser, the appointment mechanism in the House of Representatives is the same mechanism used in all state institutions. "
