Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi said that the money spent by former regime leader Saddam Hussein in his war against Iran was sufficient to eradicate hunger and poverty in the Arab and Islamic region.

"The money spent by the Saddam regime in its war against the neighbor of Iran if distributed to the Arab and Islamic region for what is left is hungry or poor," Abadi said during a meeting with officials of the popular crowd and his follower.

"The war launched by Saddam against Iran has exhausted many resources and capabilities of Iraq and the region," adding that "it is not right to chronicle the problems of Iraq after 2003 only." Ending /
