The Parliamentary Health and Environment Committee on Saturday warned against dumping the Iraqi market with fake and deadly drugs, indicating that health control of private sector medicines is virtually non-existent.
"The door of importing medicine in Iraq is open to the private sector and from all companies and originators," Health Committee member Manal al-Muslimawi told Al-Maaloum.
She added that "drugs enter and without a sergeant after the arrival of health control to almost non-existent," indicating that "some of these drugs cause fatal diseases and toxic poisoning are not approved."
She pointed out that "the import of medicines by the private sector turned into traders of death for the absence of the sergeant and in agreement with some doctors who spend treatment for the patient and pay to buy it away from the need of the patient to him."
