President of the Republic Barham Salih and the head of the UN investigation team held accountable for ISIS crimes, on Thursday, establishing an international court to hold ISIS accountable for its crimes committed in Iraq.
A presidential statement, which Mawazine News received a copy of, stated that, "In the Peace Palace in Baghdad, Saleh received Karim Khan, head of the United Nations investigation team, to enhance accountability for crimes committed by ISIS."
The statement added, "The meeting discussed efforts to establish a special international court to hold ISIS members accountable for the crimes and violations they committed against Iraqis in various cities and governorates, before they were purged."
The two parties affirmed, "The importance of cooperation and joint coordination on combating terrorism and drying up its sources of financing in a way that contributes to establishing international peace and security." Ended 6/29 n
