Minister of Planning, Khaled Battal Al-Najm, recommended, on Tuesday, to resume work on the (Baghdad-Haditha) power line project, which provides more than 600 megawatts.
Al-Najm said, in a statement that Mawazine News received a copy of, that "the (Baghdad - Haditha) power line is of great importance in improving the reality of national electricity throughout Iraq, and filling the energy needs of Anbar Province," noting that "this project, The national grid line will connect from the Hamidiyah area, west of Baghdad, to the Haditha Dam water station, which contains 6 units, which will provide 660 megawatts upon completion of its rehabilitation, which is in the process of assignment.
He emphasized, "The Ministry of Planning is keen to find appropriate remedies to resume work on this vital project, which has been suspended since 2017, in a manner that guarantees the rights of both parties (the Ministry of Electricity and the executing company)."
For his part, the head of the Reconstruction Fund, Muhammad Al-Ani, said, "The (Baghdad - Haditha) power line project is one of the important projects that will contribute to promoting development and reconstruction, in addition to the support and stability it provides to the national electricity network," praising " The efforts of the Ministry of Planning, and its Minister’s endeavor to address all problems and challenges facing the implementation of construction projects.
