On Monday, the Minister of Agriculture, Engineer Muhammad Al-Khafaji, chaired the meeting of the ninth session of the National Seed Council, in the presence of the Administrative Undersecretary, Dr. Mahdi Sahar Al-Jubouri, and the Ministry’s advisor, Dr. Mahdi Damad Al-Qaisi, and a number of those in charge of the ministry and members of the Council.
According to a statement by the ministry, Mawazine News received a copy of it, Al-Khafaji stressed the provision of seeds and agricultural supplies to farmers, coinciding with the approval of the winter agricultural plan, indicating the ministry’s endeavor to work on sustaining the support provided to farmers and taking their hands to provide food security for the country.
And the statement continued, "Within the framework of supporting the work of the agriculturalists, and with the extraordinary efforts of the Minister, it was agreed to irrigate 1,000 dunums of land allocated to the Wasit full-time association, with water in agreement with the Ministry of Water Resources, as well as providing the full-timers there with seeds of higher ranks in coordination with the Iraqi Company for the Production of seeds, according to the instructions and controls in force.
He added, "After discussing the topics on the agenda, the council voted on several axes," the most important of which are:
First, the seeding rate is 45 kg / dunums of registered, certified and basic wheat seeds.
Secondly, the date of delivery of wheat seeds is from 10/25/2021.
Third / Commitment to the decisions of the Ministerial Council of Economy with a support rate of 35%, and the subsidized selling price is as follows:
1. The basic rank is 895,000 dinars
2. The rank of registrar is 550,000 dinars
3. The certifier rank is 530,000 dinars.
