    {Umniah: Al Furat News} The Directorate of Civil Defense issued today, Saturday, enormous and frightening statistics of fire incidents that were put out by the Civil Defense in all Iraqi governorates, except for the Kurdistan region.
    Those statistics included fire incidents that broke out inside government and commercial buildings, factories, warehouses, residential homes, agricultural lands and others.
    The directorate stated in its statistics, that the fires "a total of (31533) thirty-one thousand five hundred and thirty-three fire accidents during the year 2021, Baghdad topped the rest of the provinces in the number of recorded fire accidents."
    And she indicated, "The number of fire accidents in the government sector is (6189) six thousand one hundred and eighty-nine fire accidents."
    She explained, "The number of fire accidents in the mixed sector is (293) two hundred and ninety-three fire accidents."
    She pointed out that "the fires in the private sector have reached (25051) twenty-five thousand and fifty-one fire accidents."
    As for the causes of fire accidents, they were distributed as follows:
    1- The electrical short circuit caused (14201) fourteen thousand two hundred and one fire accidents as a result of the fluctuation of the national electric current and the spider networks of the electric wires dangling for private generators.
    2- Children’s tampering has caused (6486) six thousand four hundred and eighty-six fire accidents.
    3- Negligence caused the outbreak of (2849) two thousand eight hundred and forty-nine fire accidents.
    4- Cigarette butts caused (1721) one thousand seven hundred and twenty-one fire accidents.
     5- Accidents of arson by an active act amounted to (1224) thousand two hundred and twenty-four fire accidents.
    6- Fire accidents due to an external spark amounted to (1105) thousand and one hundred and five fire accidents.
    7- Gas leakage fire accidents amounted to (822) eight hundred and twenty two fire accidents.
    8- Accidents of fuel leakage amounting to (225) two hundred and twenty-five fire accidents.
    9- Fire accidents due to clan conflict amounted to (167) one hundred and sixty-seven fire accidents.
     10- Fire accidents colliding with means of transport amounted to (82) eighty-two fire accidents.
    11- Fire accidents due to self-combustion amounted to (25) twenty-five fire accidents.
    12- Fire accidents due to an explosion amounted to (27) twenty-seven fire accidents.
    13- Fire accidents due to unknown cause amounted to (554) five hundred and fifty-four fire accidents.
    14- Fire accidents for other reasons amounted to (2599) two thousand five hundred and ninety-nine fire accidents.
