ELECTRICITY ANNOUNCES SECURING FUNDS TO RESTORE AN IMPORTANT STRATEGIC LINE FOR SERVICE

The ministry’s spokesman, Ahmed Moussa, said in a statement to the official agency, which was followed by the news, that “at the direction of the Minister of Electricity, a field visit was conducted to Anbar Governorate to cover the activities undertaken by the ministry’s staff to complete and rehabilitate the 400 (KV) line, which is a strategic line linking Anbar with the electrical system.” Pointing out that "this line was destroyed, and large districts in Anbar were subjected to sabotage operations during the ISIS period, and the processing hours were greatly limited."
He added that "the Ministry of Electricity had referred this line to the Reconstruction Fund for its implementation, and it passed through lagging stages," stressing that "the ministry has secured the funds to complete this line, which has reached 82% of its completion stages, and it is supposed to be ready to work before next summer, which would equip the governorate with electricity." It connects the Al-Hamidiyah station with the Al-Anbar complex.
He pointed out that "despite the difficult security challenges, the difficult work site, and the exposure of the staff to terrorist sniping operations, the staff of the ministry continues to work day and night to complete these projects, in addition to the fact that the ministry has difficultly secured financial allocations for the Anbar Complex Station and in favor of Anbar Diesel," stressing that "the ministry continues to provide Service and preparation with a strategic and emergency plan for the summer.
