Earth News/ Representative from Diyala Governorate, Suzan Mansour Karam, submitted today, Thursday, a parliamentary request to stop the transfer of souls to Khanaqin district.
According to a document issued by the representative’s office, DTT to Earth News, “Please kindly agree to close the electronic souls transfer form affiliated to the website of the Directorate of Civil Status, Passports and Residence and instruct the Directorate of Civil Status, Passports and Residence / Diyala to wait in issuing orders for the transfer of souls temporarily to Khanaqin district and its sub-districts (Jalawla, Saadia, Jbara, Qirtabah, Mandali) then the implementation of Article (140) of the Iraqi constitution for the aforementioned areas.
And she added, "These areas are subject to the provisions and decisions of the Prime Minister / Committee for the Implementation of Article (140) of the Iraqi constitution, and where approvals for the transfer of souls are considered a violation of the constitution and the text of the aforementioned article, through which the demographic change of the areas referred to above takes place."
