The head of the Parliamentary Legal Committee, independent MP Muhammad Anouz, confirmed today, Thursday, the division of independents into three types, considering that the withdrawal of the Sadrist movement's leader Muqtada al-Sadr from parliament complicated the political scene.

The head of the Legal Committee said in an interview with the publicly program broadcast by Alsumaria satellite channel, that "the independents must have new programs and different from the previous sessions, and there are two visions of the work of the independents within Parliament, which are either to go to the opposition or to go to power and ally with the political blocs."

He added, "The independents were divided into three types, some of them aligned with the coordinating framework and some of them aligned withSadrist MovementThere are those who remain with the opposition," noting that "the parliamentary system is essentially a partisan and political system, but the individual law gave an opportunity for independents to enter parliament and formulate an effective political representative system."

Anouz explained, "presenting an independent candidate for the position of prime minister is an absolute impossibility," noting that "independents may participate in the government, but none of them will be a candidate for the prime minister's post."

The head of the Parliamentary Legal Committee stressed that "political action is not like "cooking eggs", but there must be a clear political program, and if the independent does not achieve a new program that meets the aspirations of those who gave him his vote, he will fail."

He pointed out that "the political bazaar has been open since 2003 and has not been closed until now, and the independents are included in it, and the winner is the one who remained on his position and did not go to temptations," noting that "the obstacle that stands in the way of forming a government is the lack of confidence between the political parties."

Anouz pointed out that "Al-Sadr's withdrawal from Parliament complicated the political scene a lot, and the situation became almost cloudy," stressing that "there is no clear vision for the coordination framework regarding their candidate for the position of prime minister because there is more than one candidate for the position."

The head of the Legal Committee stressed that "if the leader of the State of Law coalition, Nuri al-Maliki, takes over as prime minister, al-Sadr will have a mixed, improper or inappropriate reaction and will be provocative because there are certain qualities that al-Sadr demands in the candidate."

And he indicated that "a new election law must be legislated in line with the nature of the tasks undertaken by the concerned council and be responsible for the Iraqi legislation and its nature, and that the new electoral system should be based on partisan bases and be proportional between entitlement and votes."

Anouz pointed out that "there are 120 laws that have been transferred to the current legal committee from previous sessions, and they will be discussed according to priority, and after the legislative holiday work will start on them in order."
