     Baghdad: Haider Al-Jaber

The Iraqi political process is characterized by a distinctive characteristic that differs from the rest of the political experiences in the countries of the world, which is the large number of dialogues that generate new dialogues, and this series of dialogues does not end with a clear result.
Since the announcement of the results of the October 2021 elections, the political process has entered a series of crises due to the dispute over the continuation of political consensus or not, as the Sadrist movement, whose deputies recently resigned, prefer to form a majority political government, while the forces of the coordination framework support consensus that includes all.
Nine months after the elections, the political scene has not changed, except with an increase in the number of dialogues and initiatives that fall short.
The independent deputy and head of the Legal Committee, Mohamed Anouz, described the political consensus as a “disease,” which expresses the interests of political parties, expressing his fear of a new election law that neglects the interests of the citizen, describing the initiatives as “initiatives of absolute impossibility.” Anouz said: “Consensus is a disease, and quotas is a disease that kills the political process and does not express the interest of the people. It means narrow partisan interests without looking towards society economically and socially.” He added that “4 parliamentary sessions have passed, in which 4 electoral laws have been changed, and the fifth experiment may take place.” a new electoral law.
