On Thursday, the Parliamentary Legal Committee called on the government of Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani to review laws with a legal aspect that waste money.
Member of the Finance Committee, MP Basem Khashan, said in a press statement that "there are many laws that have been initiated in previous sessions, especially in which there are financial squandering and waste of money that need review and follow-up for the purpose of amending them," calling on the government to "restrict those laws for the purpose of studying them again."
Khashan added, "Some of the laws in the previous session that are compatible with the new government program need to be re-examined and submitted to the parliament."
