    The Minister of Industry and Minerals, Khaled Battal Al-Najm, confirmed today, Wednesday, that the industrial zone between Iraq and Jordan will encourage the establishment of investment projects in various sectors.

    And the media office of the ministry stated, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "Al-Najm chaired an expanded meeting at the ministry's headquarters for members of the Iraqi side, representatives of ministries, agencies and federations in the joint Iraqi-Jordanian committee to discuss a draft working paper that will be in the meetings of the 29th session of the committee that will be discussed next February.” 
    The statement added, "The Minister of Industry indicated at the outset of the meeting the need to focus on the joint economic city project between Iraq and Jordan, as it will include industrial zones, free zones and logistical support and will achieve many privileges and benefits." for both countries, in addition to encouraging the establishment of investment projects in various industries within the city. He
    pointed out that "the localization of the pharmaceutical industries has become an important factor, and that it is necessary to give priority and exceptional importance to the file of the pharmaceutical industries, especially since the Samarra Pharmaceutical Company covers only 20% of the country's needs."
    Al-Najm instructed, according to the statement, to "send an official invitation to Jordanian companies specialized in mining, petrochemicals, and fertilizers to attend and participate in the mining and petrochemical conference, which is scheduled to be held next May." 
    The statement stated, “The meeting dealt with extensive discussions and deliberations on the paragraphs and topics included in the working paper, which include cooperation between the two countries in the industrial, banking, commercial, agricultural, health, education, investment and energy fields, In addition to the fields of political cooperation, foreign service, transportation, communications, and cooperation in the fields of planning and culture. youth, infrastructure, water resources, and others,” stressing that “the minister recommended communication among all members to amend the paragraphs according to what was presented and discussed, and to prepare the final version of the axes.[/size]
