    The General Company for Foodstuff Trading has started printing electronic cards for Baghdad Governorate, in preparation for updating citizens' data in the coming days.  
    A spokesman for the Ministry of Commerce, Muhammad Hanoun, said in an interview with the official newspaper, followed by "Al-Iqtisad News", that he had started working within the implementation of the "Tamwini" program, which is an electronic system instead of a paper one to reduce routine procedures and corruption operations, as citizens can split, transfer and add to card holders. Unified National Authority, pointing to the discovery of large numbers of travelers, the deceased, and duplicate names.  
    He pointed out that the General Company for Foodstuff Trading has started printing electronic cards for Baghdad Governorate in preparation for updating citizens' data during the coming days, with staff working in automation and working around the clock for the purpose of completing printing and updating families' data in all regions of the capital.   
    He pointed to the modernization of devices to increase the number of printed electronic ration cards from 30,000 cards per day to 100,000 cards or more.  
    Hanoun noted the formation of a committee for a number of ministry directors and a representative of the World Food Program and the Ministry of Communications to prepare a database of beneficiaries and make backup copies of it to avoid damage and hacking.  
    And he indicated that the Najaf governorate had already started printing the electronic card, as it completed 95 percent of updating the beneficiaries' data, and 5 percent of it stopped because the people did not review to update their data, stressing at the same time the launch of electronic collection through (Zain Cash) to pay the fees for the new ration cards.  
    He added that the digitization of the electronic card comes within the Prime Minister's directives to target the classes benefiting from the ration system and improve their vocabulary within the specified time limit. The card's modernization processes have taken place in Muthanna, Kirkuk, and Dohuk, and will be implemented in Basra soon.
