    Baghdad today - Baghdad 
    Today, Saturday, Oil Minister Hayan Abdul Ghani inaugurated a number of vital projects in the West Qurna / 1 field in Basra Governorate, while indicating the daily production volume. 
    A statement from the ministry, received by "Baghdad Today", stated that "the projects included a project for the associated water treatment unit with a capacity of 235,000 barrels per day, and the station consists of three treatment units using the centrifugal method, with the installation of 2 tanks with a capacity of 10,000 cubic meters." 
    The Minister of Oil indicated, according to the statement, that "the aim of the project is the optimal use of water to treat the operations of injecting associated water into the main reservoir layer, which aims to reduce the pollution process and increase the reservoir pressure to sustain and increase oil production, and this project is one of the vital projects for reservoir support in the oil field." West Qurna / 1". 
    Abdul-Ghani added, "The other project that was inaugurated is the sixth station's docking project, which includes linking the old projects with the new ones, to achieve the goal of improving the infrastructure, removing bottlenecks, and achieving a smooth flow in the process of transporting crude oil without having to stop production, through the completion and operation of a new control system with technology." advanced modern. 
    He continued, "And also the construction of an integrated firefighting system, with the completion of two (2) new tanks with a capacity of 10,000 cubic meters, along with a new gas burning system, and an oil extraction unit from gas operations before the combustion process, and connecting the wet oil treatment unit with new oil washing pumps, which This, in turn, leads to improving the specifications and quality of the produced crude oil. 
    He explained that "the projects that were inaugurated today in the West Qurna / 1 field, which has a production of 560 thousand barrels per day, come within the Ministry's objectives to support vital and important projects, and improve the environment." 
    For his part, the Undersecretary for Gas Affairs, Izzat Saber, said, "The ministry supports projects to upgrade the infrastructure of oil fields, by providing them with modern technology systems that contribute to upgrading oil production operations." 
    On the investment of associated gas from oil fields, Saber stressed that "the ministry has developed promising plans to invest associated gas and convert it into useful energy and stop burning it within the next few years." 
    While the Director General of the Basra Oil Company, Bassem Abdul Karim, said that "the field's production currently stands at 560,000 barrels per day, and that the projects that have been opened aim to support increased production, achieve a high flow in technical operations, and upgrade the infrastructure," stressing that "the percentage of national labor in field exceeded (90%).
