    Zagros Arabia - Erbil

The Federal Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fouad Hussein, confirmed that the Iraqi foreign policy is based on developing relations, while calling on investment companies to work in Iraq in the field of infrastructure.

This came during his meeting today, Monday, with the Secretary-General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, Jassim Muhammad Al-Budaiwi, and the two sides discussed ways to enhance cooperation between the Cooperation Council and Iraq.

Hussein pointed out, according to a statement issued by the ministry, that the government is "interested in developing relations with the countries of the Cooperation Council at all levels," expressing his "thanks and appreciation to the Secretary-General for continuing hard work in the field of economic support and linking energy that contribute to improving the conditions of the Iraqi people and advancing the Iraqi economy." ".

And he indicated that "Iraq is a promising and safe investment environment," calling on investment companies to work in Iraq in the field of infrastructure.

He noted that "the doors of Iraq are open to Gulf companies, and that the Iraqi foreign policy is based on developing relations," stressing that "the relations between Iraq and the Gulf Cooperation Council countries are solid and strong."

He added: The electrical connection with the Gulf and Saudi Arabia was a main focus of the discussions, while encouraging the entry of Gulf companies into Iraq.

He said, "The current government is working to diversify the economy and provide services, and it has a clear plan to invest in gas."

The Iraqi-Gulf Forum, which will be held in Sharjah, was also discussed.

For his part, the Secretary-General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf affirmed that "the Gulf Cooperation Council is working to ensure the security and prosperity of Iraq and to strengthen relations, and we need to move forward in consolidating relations between Iraq and the Gulf states," explaining that "the electrical connection with Iraq is an ambitious project."

He pointed out that "there are Gulf plans to link the Iraqi economy," noting that "Iraq plays a major role in managing the regional and international files."
