Parliamentary parties suggested that Prime Minister Muhammad Shia' al-Sudani would carry out a number of ministerial changes during the coming period, and hinted at the possibility of hosting al-Sudani in the House of Representatives.
A member of the House of Representatives, Mahma Khalil, said in a press interview, which was seen by Taqaddam, that “the challenges the country is going through, such as the rise in dollar exchange and the water and electricity crises, in addition to the border demarcation crisis between Iraq and Kuwait, which resulted in the removal of homes for Iraqis in the city of Umm Palace, factors that will put Al-Sudani before the option of dealing with its repercussions,” pointing out that “the option of dismissal or asking some ministers to submit their resignation is possible in the next stage, especially since Al-Sudani’s program has referred to the exemption of negligent officials.”
Regarding the option of withdrawing confidence from the Sudanese government as a whole, Khalil excluded that at the present time, indicating that “the leaders of the political blocs will definitely go to hold an expanded meeting through which the causes of these internal problems will be discussed with Al-Sudani as a first stage, in addition to the fact that most of these blocs are the ones that came With this current government, it is therefore unlikely that it will resort to the option of withdrawing confidence from the government in the House of Representatives at the present time.
And Khalil added, “It is possible that a parliamentary request be submitted inside the House of Representatives, to host the Prime Minister and a number of ministers and government officials, to discuss the reasons for the deterioration of the dollar, and the failure to address the risks threatening Iraq as a result of the crisis of low water and the drying up of rivers, in addition to discussing the file of Iraqi sovereignty and what It is related to the encroachment of neighboring countries on Iraqi territory.
It is worth noting that the Basra Governorate witnessed in the past days a state of angry reactions after the Kuwaiti Foreign Minister announced the approval of the Iraqi authorities to remove homes for Iraqis from the border strip between the city of Umm Qasr in Basra and the State of Kuwait, and the country witnessed during the current week an almost complete collapse of the electrical system In addition to the continued rise in the exchange rate of the dollar against the Iraqi dinar, which cast a shadow on the citizens and caused a state of widespread popular discontent.
