Independent MP Kazem Al-Touki affirmed, on Sunday, that Iraq possesses the economic factor and the path of development, as well as the support of the international community in obtaining its water rights from the Turkish side.

Al-Touki said in a statement to Al-Maalouma, "The Iraqi political decision is not at the required level and does not have the strength that meets the aspirations of the people and achieves the interests of the country, as confronting Turkey and ensuring that Iraq obtains its water share from it requires taking a number of measures on the economic level."
He added, "Countries deal with economic logic, and it is possible to link Turkey economically to Iraq, especially through development, as Ankara seeks to enter and participate in this project to obtain the gains it desires."
And he indicated that "European countries will be supportive of Iraq in the water file with the Turkish side, as Europe's interest in the path of development requires it to stand by Iraq to achieve what it wants from Turkey with regard to water shares." ended 25 n
