Regarding financial dues.. The Coordination Committee announces its position on the government’s statement and extends an invitation to Erbil

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Today, Friday (September 8, 2023), the coordination framework announced its position on the government statement regarding the region’s financial dues, while sending an invitation to the Erbil government.
Baghdad clarifies its commitments with Erbil
Earlier today, Friday, government spokesman Bassem Al-Awadi said in a statement, “The federal government has fully implemented its financial obligations towards the Kurdistan region,” noting that “the funds owed by the region amounted to more than three times the region’s share, according to the state’s actual spending.” .
He continued, "The regional government did not deliver oil and non-oil revenues as required by the budget law," noting that "despite the regional government's lack of commitment, the federal government took a decision not to hold Iraqi citizens in the region responsible for non-compliance."
Al-Awadi stated that “adherence to federal laws and agreements concluded under the Constitution is the shortest path to completing financial transfers and enhancing confidence.”
Support the center and extend an invitation
The leader in the coordination framework, Jabbar Odeh, confirms that the Kurdistan Regional Government has not adhered to its financial pledges with Baghdad.
Odeh told “Baghdad Today,” “The detailed statement by the Sudanese government spokesman about the nature of the financial entitlements to the Kurdistan region and what was implemented of them gives clear and explicit evidence that Baghdad has committed to everything it owes to the region, but the latter has not committed, and this is another problem.”
He explained, “Baghdad cannot continue to pay money without implementing the financial obligations of the Kurdistan region,” pointing out that “the region is part of the Iraqi state and laws and legislation apply to it.”
He pointed out, “Purposeful dialogue and justice in distributing financial resources among all regions of Iraq is what leads to stability and achieving an environment that leads to continuous development. Otherwise, any crisis will affect everyone.”
Odeh also called on “the regional government to state the facts to public opinion and that it did not adhere to many points.”
He continued, “All the framework forces support what was stated in the Sudanese government’s statement and see it as a revelation of facts that many of the Iraqi people, including the Kurds, may not have known, in order to reveal part of the hidden crises of the crises despite Baghdad’s efforts to overcome them.”
Financial dues and Erbil’s position
On (September 7, 2023), the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, said, “Baghdad’s refusal to send our financial dues is a violation of constitutional agreements.”
Barzani confirmed in a tweet via “X”, that “Baghdad’s refusal to send our financial dues confirmed in the federal general budget is a violation of constitutional agreements, harms our citizens, and undermines confidence.
