The Interior Ministry takes strict measures to restrict the use of fireworks

With the approach of the new year and the start of the countdown to New Year's Eve celebrations, the Ministry of Interior has tightened its procedures to prevent fireworks accidents, and at a time when 200 injuries were recorded during the first half of the current year, the Baghdad Municipality prepared all its parks early to receive revelers.
Secretary and Rapporteur of the National Committee for the Regulation of Weapons and their Control in the State, Brigadier General Mansour Ali Sultan, confirmed to Al-Sabah that the Ministry has tightened its procedures to reduce fireworks accidents, by forming a committee with the membership of the Civil Defense Directorate that carries out inspection campaigns and monitors shops that trade in prohibited fireworks, warning against... Referring the process of monitoring the use of fireworks to the Weapons Control Committee, after they became a major danger, especially after 200 injuries were recorded during the first half of the current year, while the injuries recorded during the past year amounted to 198 injuries.
He pointed out that the committee has prepared controls for the use of these games to avoid accidents of injury or fire, calling at the same time for the necessity of adhering to these instructions, especially at the time of public New Year’s celebrations, which witness their extensive use.
For his part, the media director of the parks department in the Baghdad Municipality, Marwan Hamid, explained to Al-Sabah that the municipality prepared early to prepare all the parks in the capital, Baghdad, such as Al-Zawraa Park, which is the largest park in the capital, pointing out that it was equipped with the largest Christmas tree and decorated with beautiful lighting.
At the conclusion of his speech, he stated that the municipality has completed the rehabilitation of three parks in Sadr City, in addition to the Abu Nawas Corniche and parks within the Karrada and Al-Mansour sectors, which will witness a beautiful festive atmosphere on New Year’s Eve, which reflects the good security reality witnessed in all areas of the capital.
