    The representative of the State of Law coalition, Muhammad Saadoun, confirmed on Tuesday that the positions of governors would be in the interest of the blocs or coalition that has half the number of seats plus one.
    Al-Sayhud told Al-Maalouma, “The position of governor in Baghdad or other governorates will go to the coalition that is able to achieve half the number of seats plus one, which is what the coordination framework has in Baghdad and some other governorates.”
    He added, "Over the past years, the provincial council elections did not produce blocs that possess an absolute majority to choose local governments and appoint new governors. Rather, all blocs need allies in order to achieve a numerical majority in the seats in order to pass the governorship and form the local government."
    He stated that "consensus and understandings between political blocs play a prominent role in forming alliances to choose governors and form new local governments." Ended 25 n
