Al-Jubouri said in an interview with Al-Maalouma, “Political interests play a role in the water crisis that has afflicted Iraq in recent years, with the decline in supplies from the Tigris and Euphrates rivers, despite the existence of bilateral agreements that give scope for fairness and non-harm, but the water situation has taken a difficult turn with its growing danger to the governorates.” Several, especially the southern ones.
He added, "Iraq possesses several economic papers, including the Silk Road, pointing out that" Ankara has already knocked on the doors of the Sudanese government in order to have a role through its companies in implementing the work axes in particular.
He pointed out that "investing the economic card with Ankara in securing Baghdad's water rights is an important strategy that must be dealt with in accordance with what meets Iraq's interests and ensures achieving the principle of justice and equity in obtaining its water shares."
In recent years, Iraq has been suffering from a decline in its water shares across the Tigris and Euphrates rivers due to the construction of a series of large dams inside Turkish territory. End 25 F
