    Baghdad today - Sulaymaniyah
A member of the New Generation Movement, Aram Muhammad, confirmed today, Monday (January 15, 2024), that Baghdad fulfilled the role assigned to it and sent funds to the region.
Muhammad said in an interview with "Baghdad Today" that "there is no excuse for the regional government to pay employees' salaries on a regular and monthly basis, since the amount sent with the financial revenues from port revenues and taxes is sufficient to pay salaries monthly."
He added, "The regional government needs an amount of 895 billion dinars per month to pay the salaries of employees, Peshmerga, and retirees, and it receives only 350 billion dinars per month from the revenues of the outlets. Thus, the amount sent from Baghdad with the revenues ends the economic crisis, but the corruption of the parties in power prevents that."
Yesterday, Sunday, the Council of Ministers agreed to send more than 600 billion dinars as a loan to the Kurdistan region to pay employees’ salaries, a number that is only enough for one month, while the region’s employees still have not received salaries for 3 months of last year.
