    [rtl]The Passports Department of the Civil Status Directorate, in Kirkuk, announced that it receives more than 400 visitors daily, while issuing 250 electronic passports per day.[/rtl]
     
    [rtl]The director of the department, Brigadier General Saroud Abdullah, explained that “his department receives between 400-450 applicants on a daily basis in order to obtain the electronic passport, which is completed by the staff of the aforementioned department within one or two days in accordance with the applicable procedures, indicating that the passport includes 18 security signs according to a biometric program that includes general information about the citizen, including the eye and fingerprint, confirming that the department processes 250 electronic passports daily,” according to the official newspaper.[/rtl]
     
    [rtl]He pointed out that "the department is witnessing a high demand from visitors, due to the smoothness and speed with which the transaction is completed, which has led to reducing the effort on the citizen's part, stressing at the same time the continuation of work with the paper passport, as no recommendations have been received regarding it so far."[/rtl]
     
    [rtl]Abdullah stated that “submission is done through the website and according to the statistical number of each citizen and the national card number, as the data is entered via the code registered to reserve the passport within the governorate, and then the information about the person is entered into the reservation program on the mobile phone of the person concerned with a specific code and sent to the office.” Passports to complete the transaction duly so that the passport can be received on the same day or the next day.[/rtl]
