Al-Saadi said in an interview followed by Al-Eqtisad News, “The strategy of openness and building new cities was a mechanism adopted by the Sudanese government in order to meet the large demand for housing units, especially since the country entered the peak stage of its crisis, which led to major problems, including slums, encroachments, and the dismemberment of homes.”
He added, "The foundation stone for ten new cities will be laid during the first quarter of 2024 through a national plan. Investment will play the largest role through promising opportunities that contribute to reviving the national economy and creating more than 70,000 job opportunities at once."
He pointed out that "the cities will be distributed in Baghdad and the rest of the governorates according to systematic mechanisms that take into account the size of the population density and the levels of need through objective studies."

On Saturday, member of the Parliamentary Services Committee, Baqir Al-Saadi, confirmed the government’s intention to lay the foundation stone for building 10 new cities during the first quarter of 2024.
Al-Saadi said in an interview followed by Al-Eqtisad News, “The strategy of openness and building new cities was a mechanism adopted by the Sudanese government in order to meet the large demand for housing units, especially since the country entered the peak stage of its crisis, which led to major problems, including slums, encroachments, and the dismemberment of homes.”
